FOGTEC carries out a large number of full scale fire tests at internationally recognised testing/ research institutes. Thus tests have so far been carried out at: Factory Mutual, Sintef, CNPP, Darchem, Allianz-Zentrum für Technik (Alliance-Technology Centre), Institut für Sicherheitstechnik (Institute for Safety Technology), US Coast Guard, Bayer, Material Prüfanstalt (Material Test Institute) Ibexu etc. Beside research and development tests, tests are carried out for certification purposes as well as for individual customer applications.

These tests are partly conducted in our own fire test facilities. These are located on the premises of the Deutsche Luft- und Raumfahrt Forschungsanstalt (German Aviation and Aerospatial Research Institute) DLR. On the DLR ground, FOGTEC has its own fire test buildings, that have been especially erected for this purpose. Amongst other installations, there is a hall with a moveable ceiling for the purpose of simulating different room heights. Also it is possible to simulate various scenarios regarding protection of machines, cable tunnels, tunnels, furnaces etc.

Such FOGTEC owned test facilities enable FOGTEC to react to particular customer demands in a flexible manner. Fire fighting systems can be optimised with regard to particular applications, without abandoning the option of full scale fire tests.
