Tests of the fire protection systems and fire-fighting equipment for the Eurotunnel were carried out in a special tunnel in Spain in April 2010. Five scientific institutes were involved in the full-scale experiments. These were the most extensive fire tests ever conducted of a tunnel fire protection system.
